Henry Wells (1805-1878), Expressman. He merged 3 older companies to form American Express and became its President from 1850-68. In 1852 he organized Wells, Fargo & Co. He retired in 1868. In the same year, he founded Wells Seminary, the present Wells College. William G. Fargo (1818-1881), Expressman, First co-owner of Wells & Co., Secretary of American Express (1850), and later President of American Express, etc. Two early 1860 stubs of American Express Stock-The first, Henry Wells signs for (Ms. Harriet Wells) and so his autograph is doubled! The other is signed by Wm. G. Fargo. Includes portraits and biographies. The Exceptional and Very Rare Pair. Nice!!!
