You have an awesome web site..... easy to navigate.....colorful....and very informative!
The note and catalogs arrived. I'm pleased with the note. Many thanks for the great catalogs. Your catalogs must be the finest produced.
Just a quick note to tell you that it had been quite sometime since I was last on your site. Although this email won't make you any money, I want you to know that your site is without parallel on the web and wins, hands down, for the "classiest" website out there in any field. A quality representation of quality folks. Nicely done!
Your catalogs AND website are A#1 First Rate. Really fine quality.
On April 13, 2011, I contacted you about a remnant of the battle flag of the 61st PA Volunteers that you had for sale. It was matted with a photo of Federal units staging for the Battle of Fair Oaks. The 61st only had two battle flags during the War, so the remnant had to come from the flag that survived (barely) this battle. The people of Philadelphia subsequently provided a new Regimental Flag, which now hangs in the State House in Harrisburg, PA. (The Regiment had been brought up to full size at Camp Advance, ( by the addition of two companies from Philadelphia - where this remnant came from.)
After speaking with you, and your son, I ordered the set, and it arrived the second day!
My Great Grandfather, James Snowden McElroy, served in this regiment for its entire existence, enlisting in Allegheny (now part of Pgh) one month after Fort Sumter was attacked, and mustering out upon the dissolving of the Regiment, one month after Lee's surrender.
I contacted family members, and told them: "Great Grandfather's flag is coming home." Thank you.
