Mervyn Edward Griffin Jr. (July 6, 1925 – August 12, 2007) was a prominent American television host and media entrepreneur. He initially launched his career as a radio and big band vocalist before transitioning to film and Broadway performances. From 1962 to 1986, Griffin served as the host of his own talk show, The Merv Griffin Show. Additionally, he was the mastermind behind several popular game shows, such as Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune, produced through his companies, Merv Griffin Enterprises and Merv Griffin Entertainment.
In 1988, Griffin acquired Resorts International along with two of its properties: one located in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and the other on Paradise Island in The Bahamas, from Donald Trump and other investors. As part of this deal, Trump obtained Resorts' stake in the Taj Mahal project, which was still under construction, for $273 million and maintained ownership of Resorts International Air, which operated three Sikorsky S-61 helicopters. Earlier that same year, Trump had attempted to take Resorts private; however, Griffin, through his company Griffin Gaming & Entertainment, presented a more attractive offer to minority shareholders in April 1988. After initially purchasing Resorts International for $101 million in 1987, Trump sold it to Griffin for $365 million, which included the assumption of the hotel-casino's debt amounting to $925 million on November 15, 1988.
Stock and Bond Specimens are made and usually retained by a printer as a record of the contract with a client, generally with manuscript contract notes such as the quantity printed. Specimens are sometimes produced for use by the printing company's sales team as examples of the firm’s products. These are usually marked "Specimen" and have no serial numbers.
