Esterline Technologies Corporation was a publicly traded entity that specializes in the design, manufacture, and marketing of specialty products primarily aimed at aerospace and defense clients. The company is particularly recognized as a supplier of products and equipment for aerospace giants such as Boeing and Airbus, as well as for the American military and its allies. Esterline is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, with Curtis Reusser serving as the chairman, president, and CEO. Esterline was established in 1906 by John Esterline, an electrical engineer who previously led the electrical engineering department at Purdue University. Initially, Esterline produced magnets and recording devices. The company was renamed the Esterline-Angus Company when it began collaborating with Donald J. Angus. In 1967, Esterline-Angus merged with Boyar-Schultz, Inc., a manufacturer of surface grinding materials, resulting in the formation of Esterline Corporation. The company went public in 1968, and later that same year, it ventured into the aerospace and defense industries by acquiring Babcock Electronics. In 1969, Esterline started to acquire companies in the medical supply and equipment sector. By the early 1970s, it had diversified into businesses focused on ophthalmic products and hearing aids. By 1978, the company had divested most of its healthcare businesses and subsidiaries, including its hearing aid manufacturing division. After leaving the healthcare market, Esterline had acquired an additional 20 companies by 1986.
Stock and Bond Specimens are made and usually retained by a printer as a record of the contract with a client, generally with manuscript contract notes such as the quantity printed. Specimens are sometimes produced for use by the printing company's sales team as examples of the firm’s products. These are usually marked "Specimen" and have no serial numbers.
