Compañía Minera de “El Buen Despacho” and Anexas was a Mexican mining enterprise that thrived during the early 20th century. Its primary focus was on the historic gold and silver districts of El Oro, State of Mexico, and Tlalpujahua, Michoacán. By 1911, the company had issued stock to finance its operations, which centered around the rich veins characteristic of this central Mexican mining belt. Its administrative structure included prominent figures like Eugenio Moles and R. Dondé, with offices located in Mexico City to oversee its interests in the surrounding mineral-rich states.
By 1919, the company had established a substantial financial presence, boasting a reported capital of 2,000,000 pesos, divided into shares of 50 pesos each. Like many operations in the El Oro and Tlalpujahua regions, El Buen Despacho capitalized on the “bonanza” era of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. During this period, advanced extraction technologies and high mineral grades transformed the area into one of the most productive gold-mining centers globally. However, the industry eventually encountered challenges from the Mexican Revolution, escalating labor costs, and flooding. These factors led to the cessation of active production for many regional companies by the late 1920s.
A stock certificate is issued by businesses, usually companies. A stock is part of the permanent finance of a business. Normally, they are never repaid, and the investor can recover his/her money only by selling to another investor. Most stocks, or also called shares, earn dividends, at the business's discretion, depending on how well it has traded. A stockholder or shareholder is a part-owner of the business that issued the stock certificates.
