Inv# FM3906 Foreign Paper Money10 Florins, P-7. Front and back shown. The Central Bank of Aruba (Centrale Bank van Aruba) launched banknotes in denominations of 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 florin, effective from January 1, 1986. In 1990, the bank released a vibrant new series of notes in the same denominations, designed by Aruban artist Evelino Fingal. As the director of the Archaeological Museum, Fingal drew inspiration from ancient Indian artwork and pottery fragments. He integrated decorative elements from pre-Columbian ceramics with images of animals that are native to the island. The 500-florin note was introduced in 1993, and in 1995, the 5-florin note was replaced by a square coin. In 2003, a new printing of the existing banknotes of 10, 25, 50, 100, and 500 florin commenced. These updated banknotes incorporated enhanced security features to prevent counterfeiting while maintaining their original design.
