Stock printed by Goes. Gold mining in Colorado has been a significant industry since 1858 and was instrumental in the formation of the state. In 1807, explorer Zebulon Pike received reports of gold in South Park, which is now known as Park County, Colorado. The initial gold discoveries occurred near Denver, where prospectors traced placer gold back to its origins in the mountains to the west. They then followed the Colorado Mineral Belt southwest across the state, reaching its endpoint in the San Juan Mountains. Notably, the Cripple Creek district, located away from the mineral belt, emerged as one of the last gold districts to be uncovered and continues to be operational.

A stock certificate is issued by businesses, usually companies. A stock is part of the permanent finance of a business. Normally, they are never repaid, and the investor can recover his/her money only by selling to another investor. Most stocks, or also called shares, earn dividends, at the business's discretion, depending on how well it has traded. A stockholder or shareholder is a part-owner of the business that issued the stock certificates.
