Mines located near Index, Washington. Has some soiling at vertical folds, otherwise very nice. Index is a municipality located in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. According to the 2020 census, the population stood at 155. The town was officially incorporated on October 11, 1907. At its height, the population reached 1,000 during the 1910s, but it has since decreased to approximately 200. In the early 20th century, Index was home to a granite quarry, copper mines, and a shingle mill. By the 1980s, the area offered limited employment and services, featuring only one restaurant and a general store to cater to a population of about 150. A significant flood in December 1980 caused extensive damage to the town, but residents subsequently undertook the reconstruction of buildings and roads.
