The Monmouth Park Jockey Club, formally established in 1946, resurrected Thoroughbred racing after a 53-year state-mandated hiatus. Led by Amory L. Haskell and Philip H. Iselin, a group of New Jersey businessmen, the club revived the sport. While the original Monmouth Park dates back to 1870, the modern incarnation in Oceanport, New Jersey, solidified its reputation as a premier destination for American racing. Over the decades, the club has introduced several of the industry’s most prestigious events, notably the Grade 1 Haskell Stakes, a cornerstone of the summer racing season for three-year-olds.

In 2025, the facility celebrated its 80th anniversary season under the leadership of the New Jersey Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association and its operator, Darby Development. The 2025 meet, which concluded on September 14, saw record-breaking handles and featured 51 stakes races totaling $7.8 million in purses. Beyond its core racing operations, the venue has expanded its offerings, including a newly opened 16,000-square-foot Caesars trackside sportsbook and year-round luxury dining. These ongoing developments aim to maintain Monmouth Park’s legacy as both a historic landmark and a modern “lifestyle destination” for the Jersey Shore community.

A stock certificate is issued by businesses, usually companies. A stock is part of the permanent finance of a business. Normally, they are never repaid, and the investor can recover his/her money only by selling to another investor. Most stocks, or also called shares, earn dividends, at the business's discretion, depending on how well it has traded. A stockholder or shareholder is a part-owner of the business that issued the stock certificates.
