Narragansett Park served as a Thoroughbred horse racing venue located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Following the legalization of parimutuel betting by Rhode Island voters on May 18, 1934, the Narragansett Racing Association promptly revealed its intentions to construct a $1 million racetrack on the grounds of the former What Cheer Airport. The racetrack was named in honor of the original Narragansett Park, which was a trotting facility situated in Cranston, Rhode Island. On June 6, 1934, the Association received the first horse racing permit issued by the state. The construction of the racetrack was finalized in less than two months, with a total expenditure of $1.2 million. The facility boasted a one-mile racing oval, a grandstand with a capacity of 14,000 seats, 270 betting and payment booths, a clubhouse, and 22 barns that could house over 1,000 horses. To enhance accessibility, the City of Pawtucket constructed a new four-lane highway leading to the entrance of the track, and a double-track railway was established in proximity to the grandstands.

Monmouth Park Racetrack, situated in Oceanport, New Jersey, is a Thoroughbred horse racing facility owned by the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority and operated in collaboration with Darby Development, LLC under a five-year lease agreement. The racetrack's premier event is the Haskell Invitational, named in honor of Amory L. Haskell. Initially established as a handicap race in 1968, it transitioned to an Invitational Handicap in 1981 and is currently a 1 1/8-mile race for three-year-olds, taking place in late July. Additionally, Monmouth Park hosts the Jersey Derby, which was formerly conducted at Garden State Park until its closure in 2001. The racing season at Monmouth Park extends from early May to Labor Day in early September.

Western Racing, which was initially founded as Western Enterprises Inc. in September 1955, experienced several name changes, becoming Western Greyhound Racing, Inc. in November 1955 and ultimately Western Racing, Inc. in November 1957. The organization primarily focused on greyhound racing events in Arizona, including the Black Canyon Dog Track, which was inaugurated in 1967 by the Funk family. The construction of I-17 facilitated convenient access for residents of Phoenix to the races at Black Canyon, located approximately 40 miles to the north. Western Racing Inc., headquartered in Delaware, partnered with the Funk family to oversee the management of the track until its closure in 1982. In the subsequent years, the venue hosted Swap Meet events but fell into abandonment by the late 1980s, leading to the deterioration of the once-thriving location.

A stock certificate is issued by businesses, usually companies. A stock is part of the permanent finance of a business. Normally, they are never repaid, and the investor can recover his/her money only by selling to another investor. Most stocks, or also called shares, earn dividends, at the business's discretion, depending on how well it has traded. A stockholder or shareholder is a part-owner of the business that issued the stock certificates.
