Winston-Salem Twins, Inc. embodies the enduring corporate identity behind one of North Carolina’s most storied minor league baseball traditions. The moniker “Twins” emerged in 1905, symbolizing the partnership between the then-separate cities of Winston and Salem—a full eight years prior to their formal municipal amalgamation. Over several decades, the team navigated various circuits, including the Carolina Association, the North Carolina State League, and the Piedmont League, securing league championships in 1911, 1913, 1914, and 1928. A particularly remarkable milestone in their history transpired on August 30, 1916, when the Twins emerged victorious against the Asheville Tourists in a mere 31 minutes, a record-breaking feat in professional baseball history.

Although the “Twins” moniker was officially employed until 1942 and briefly revived from 1954 to 1956, the franchise underwent a series of name changes. Following World War II, the team underwent a metamorphosis, adopting various identities such as the Cardinals, Red Birds, Red Sox, Spirits, and Warthogs. Presently, this historic legacy continues to thrive through the Winston-Salem Dash, the High-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Despite the alteration of the corporate name, the team remains an integral component of the Piedmont Triad sports landscape, currently hosting home games at Truist Stadium.

A stock certificate is issued by businesses, usually companies. A stock is part of the permanent finance of a business. Normally, they are never repaid, and the investor can recover his/her money only by selling to another investor. Most stocks, or also called shares, earn dividends, at the business's discretion, depending on how well it has traded. A stockholder or shareholder is a part-owner of the business that issued the stock certificates.
