Years: 1900's or so

As one of the original eight franchises of the American League, this club was founded as a major league team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1901. The Milwaukee Brewers, which should not be confused with the current team of the same name, relocated to St. Louis in 1902 and became known as the St. Louis Browns. After spending over fifty years in St. Louis, the Browns moved to Baltimore in 1954, adopting the Orioles moniker, a name historically associated with various baseball teams in Baltimore.

The St. Louis Browns were a Major League Baseball franchise that began as the Milwaukee Brewers in Wisconsin. As a charter member of the American League (AL), the team transitioned to St. Louis, Missouri, following the 1901 season, where it remained for 52 years under the name St. Louis Browns. This article focuses on the franchise's history during its time in St. Louis.

Following the 1953 season, the team shifted to Baltimore, Maryland, where it became the Baltimore Orioles. As of December 2020, only six former players from the St. Louis Browns are still alive: George Elder, Johnny Groth, Billy Hunter, Ed Mickelson, Al Naples, and Frank Saucier. The team was initially established in the late 19th century as the Milwaukee Brewers in the Western League. In 1900, the Western League was rebranded as the "American League," and in 1901, it was officially recognized as a major league team under the guidance of Ban Johnson.

A stock certificate is issued by businesses, usually companies. A stock is part of the permanent finance of a business. Normally, they are never repaid, and the investor can recover his/her money only by selling to another investor. Most stocks, or also called shares, earn dividends, at the business's discretion, depending on how well it has traded. A stockholder or shareholder is a part-owner of the business that issued the stock certificates.
