The Peerless Motor Car Company, an American automobile manufacturer located in Cleveland, Ohio, produced the Peerless brand of motorcars from 1900 until 1931. As one of the "Three Ps"—Packard, Peerless, and Pierce-Arrow—the company gained a reputation for creating high-quality luxury automobiles. Peerless was at the forefront of several vehicle innovations that eventually became standard features, including drum brakes and the first enclosed-body production cars.
Founded in Cleveland in 1900 at 43 Lisbon Street, Peerless Motors initially produced automobiles under a license from the French firm De Dion-Bouton. Engineer Louis P. Mooers was instrumental in designing the initial Peerless models and various proprietary engines. The company’s first Peerless-branded vehicles came off the assembly line in 1902, showcasing a front-mounted engine that powered the rear wheels via a shaft—a configuration that later became the norm for automobiles. In 1904, Mooers created the Green Dragon racecar and recruited Barney Oldfield to drive it. The Green Dragon brought significant acclaim and success to Peerless, as Oldfield utilized it to establish numerous early world automobile speed records.
A stock certificate is issued by businesses, usually companies. A stock is part of the permanent finance of a business. Normally, they are never repaid, and the investor can recover his/her money only by selling to another investor. Most stocks, or also called shares, earn dividends, at the business's discretion, depending on how well it has traded. A stockholder or shareholder is a part-owner of the business that issued the stock certificates.
