Handwritten pay order signed by Eleazer Wales and John Lawrence.

When Eleazer Wales was born on 30 July 1755, in Union, Windham, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America, his father, Capt Solomon Wales, was 25 and his mother, Lucy Strong, was 20. He married Deidamia Chaffee on 11 June 1783, in Union, Windham, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America. They were the parents of at least 1 son. He lived in New York, United States in 1840. He registered for military service in 1840. He died on 21 August 1842, in Naples, Ontario, New York, United States, at the age of 87, and was buried in Naples, Naples, Ontario, New York, United States.

Capt. John Lawrence (1719-1802), who served as treasurer of the Colony and subsequently the State of Connecticut from 1769 to 1789, is the signatory of this document. During the war, he held the position of commissioner of loans for the nascent nation.
