Mayodan, North Carolina, is a town situated in Rockingham County, North Carolina, United States. It is recognized as a manufacturing center, hosting companies such as Sturm, Ruger & Co. and Bridgestone Aircraft Tire, and was previously the site of General Tobacco, which ceased its operations in 2010. The Washington Mills Company, which later transformed into Tultex, ran a textile mill in Mayodan until 1999. The town's name originates from the meeting point of the Mayo and Dan rivers in the vicinity and is noted by Ripley's Believe It or Not! as the only town globally with this designation. Established as a mill town with the establishment of a cotton mill in 1892, Mayodan commenced operations in April 1896. The Washington Mills-Mayodan Plant was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Rogers, Arkansas, was named to honor Captain Charles W. Rogers, who served as the vice-president and general manager of the St. Louis and San Francisco Railway, commonly referred to as the Frisco. The town was founded in 1881 to align with the arrival of the Frisco line. To acknowledge Captain Rogers' contributions, local residents chose to name the town after him. Rogers was officially incorporated on June 6, 1881. In 1883, it became the endpoint of the Bentonville Railroad, which linked Rogers to Bentonville, located about six miles away. This line, which later came under the ownership of the Arkansas and Oklahoma Railroad, was extended to Grove, Oklahoma. Currently, only the section between Rogers and Bentonville remains operational.
