The Edison Portland Cement Company was an initiative launched by Thomas Edison that significantly contributed to advancements in the Portland cement sector. While developing a process for milling iron ore, Edison identified a commercial opportunity in selling waste sand to cement producers. Consequently, he established his own cement enterprise in New Village, New Jersey, in 1899, and later provided the concrete for the construction of Yankee Stadium in 1922. Unfortunately, the company ceased operations a few years after the stadium's completion, succumbing to the economic challenges posed by the Great Depression.

Thomas A. Edison, Incorporated, initially known as the National Phonograph Company, served as the primary holding entity for the various manufacturing firms founded by the inventor and entrepreneur Thomas Edison. This company succeeded the Edison Manufacturing Company and was active from 1911 until 1957, when it merged with McGraw Electric to create McGraw-Edison.

A stock certificate is issued by businesses, usually companies. A stock is part of the permanent finance of a business. Normally, they are never repaid, and the investor can recover his/her money only by selling to another investor. Most stocks, or also called shares, earn dividends, at the business's discretion, depending on how well it has traded. A stockholder or shareholder is a part-owner of the business that issued the stock certificates.
