Chauncey Mitchell Depew (April 23, 1834 – April 5, 1928) was a prominent American lawyer, entrepreneur, and Republican political figure. He is most notably recognized for serving two terms as a United States Senator from New York and for his contributions to Cornelius Vanderbilt, both as a legal advisor and as the president of the New York Central Railroad System.

Later treasurer of same company, June 1883 became treasurer and from November 1900 had been Vice President of New York Central and Hudson River Railroad, New York & Harlem Railroad as well as of almost all the lines affiliated with the New York Central Company, also Lincoln National Bank and Lincoln Safe Deposit Company.
