Uncut Sheets are becoming rarer and rarer as people are cutting them down to individual notes and selling them separately.
The bank’s leadership included George Ogden (1831-1841), Glendy Burke (1841-1849), Rathbone (1859?), George B. Jonas (1866?-1877), Joseph Chandler Morris (1877-??), and others. Throughout its history, Canal Bank and Trust underwent several mergers and acquisitions. Notable events include the formation of New Orleans Canal and Banking Company on March 5, 1831, Canal Bank of New Orleans on November 22, 1895, Canal Bank and Trust Company on August 11, 1903, Canal-Louisiana Bank and Trust Company on October, 1905, Canal Bank and Trust Company on January 1, 1914, Canal-Commercial Trust and Savings Bank in 1919, and finally, Canal Bank and Trust Company on January 1, 1926. The archives of Canal Bank and Trust are preserved at Tulane University.
