White Crescent Press Ltd., a prominent printing company based in Luton, England, was initially established as the printing arm of the Luton News newspaper group. Throughout the 20th century, the firm operated from its factory on Windmill Road, where it gained recognition for its technical expertise in specialized printing techniques. One of its most significant contributions was the production of “Dufex” foil prints for the publisher F J Warren. These unique foil-based materials found widespread use in greeting cards, record sleeves, and high-end point-of-sale displays.

Despite its long-standing reputation, the company encountered substantial financial difficulties at the turn of the 21st century. In 2002, a management buy-in by two directors aimed to revitalize its operations. However, the press ultimately failed to overcome a combination of mounting bad debts—totaling approximately £200,000—and a decline in export demand. Consequently, White Crescent Press officially ceased production in April 2005, resulting in the loss of 54 jobs and marking the end of a significant chapter in Luton’s industrial printing history.
