Quincy Market Cold Storage and Warehouse Co. - Specimen Stock Certificate
Inv# SE4489 Specimen StockSpecimen Stock printed by American Bank Note Company, New York and Boston. In the early days of Boston, Massachusetts, the rapidly expanding city had a serious problem with food distribution. Originally Faneuil Hall was the location of most food distribution as it had 14,000 square feet of floor space. However, even that proved to be less than enough for the 50,000 people within the city limits. Due to this, the city created Quincy Market right next door. Quincy Market provided relief for the food distribution problem and also created a new cultural center for Bostonians.
Stock and Bond Specimens are made and usually retained by a printer as a record of the contract with a client, generally with manuscript contract notes such as the quantity printed. Specimens are sometimes produced for use by the printing company's sales team as examples of the firm’s products. These are usually marked "Specimen" and have no serial numbers.
