Mining Stock. Great vignette of Indians around a campfire! Scarce!!! Calumet and Hecla Consolidated Copper Company Houghton, MI. Calumet Mining District. The company, as of Sept, 1923, was a consolidation of several mining companies, including Ahmeek, Osceola and Calumet & Hecla Companies. By 1946, the company had gobbled up a number of other companies, including the Peninsula Copper Co., and the La Salle Copper Co. Both companies had been under the partial control of the company prior to its complete absorption (Ref: Weed, 1925, pp.1012-1023; Mines Register, 1946, pp.69-70)
