Interests in coal, coke, and iron enterprises and aluminum manufacture, banking president, Mellon National Bank of Pittsburgh, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury (1921-32). This 1906 check drawn on the Chartiers Railway is issued to A.W. Mellon, Pittsburgh, Pa. It has a great uncancelled signature at the back. Mellon is scarce and very much in demand.
