On October 8, 1956, during Game 5 of the 1956 World Series, New York Yankees pitcher Don Larsen achieved a perfect game against the Brooklyn Dodgers at Yankee Stadium. This remarkable feat stood as the sole no-hitter in World Series history until the Houston Astros' pitching team, consisting of Cristian Javier, Bryan Abreu, Rafael Montero, and Ryan Pressly, executed a combined no-hitter against the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2022 World Series. To this day, it remains the only perfect game recorded in World Series history.
