Hovermarine is known for building the first commercially built side-wall hovercraft. Major developments were still taking place in 1972/73 but the design proved very reliable and over 100 crafts were built, about 50 of which are still in operation around the world today in Hong Kong, Iraq, Malta, Senegal, Brazil, Jordan, Singapore, USA, India, Croatia, Japan and Turkey.
