Coal Mining Stock. Great vignette of two coal miners at work in the mines. Scarce!!! Please specify color. In the peak of Anthracite mining in Pennsylvania, many of the coal companies branded their coal. One of the most famous branded coals was the Glen Alden Coal Company's "Blue Coal". Often the coal was dyed a color other than black. Loomis Park was part of the Loomis Mine, north of Nanticoke. The last of the Loomis was torn down in the mid-1980's. They had the deepest shaft in the valley, which sat behind Loomis Park where the miners lived. Route 29 now separates this area from the Park. The Loomis Mine was owned by the Glen Alden Coal Company (also called Blue Coal Company). History from Wikipedia and OldCompanyResearch.com.

A stock certificate is issued by businesses, usually companies. A stock is part of the permanent finance of a business. Normally, they are never repaid, and the investor can recover his/her money only by selling to another investor. Most stocks, or also called shares, earn dividends, at the business's discretion, depending on how well it has traded. A stockholder or shareholder is a part-owner of the business that issued the stock certificates.
