Specimen Stock printed by Security-Columbian United States Banknote Corporation. Incorporated in 1927. Fairchild Camera and Instrument Corporation, established by Sherman Fairchild, was located on the East Coast of the United States and specialized in the research and development of flash photography technology. This technology was predominantly utilized in Department of Defense spy satellites. The company later gained recognition for its production of semiconductors. Incorporated in Delaware in 1927 as Fairchild Aviation Corporation, the company encompassed seven aircraft enterprises that evolved from the Fairchild Aerial Camera Corporation, which had been founded in 1920. This merger positioned Fairchild Aviation as the second-largest manufacturer of commercial aircraft and the fourth-largest aviation entity in the United States.
