Printed by Goes. Rare State! The first dredge in the Black Hills was put in commission in May by the Castle Creek Hydraulic Gold Mining Company, at Mystic. The bucket line comprises 78 buckets of 5 cu. ft. capacity each, geared to discharge 26 buckets per minute. The dredge will dig 35 ft. below water line. The machinery is all electrically driven, power being obtained from a steam plant comprising four 100-hp. boilers and 300-hp. 28x48-in. Corliss engine, driving a 250 hp. motor.
