Harrison, William G. (1802-1883) Railroad and banking executive. He was a prominent Baltimore businessman who served as President of the Baltimore Fire Insurance Company and Director of the Franklin Bank. During his term as President of the B&O, the line extended from the Ohio River to Columbus. A member of the Maryland Legislature elected on the States' Rights ticket in 1861, Harrison and other southern sympathizers were arrested upon the orders of Gen. John Dix in 1862 and confined in Ft. McHenry until the end of the Civil War.
