Alfred G. Vanderbilt (1877-1915), Third son of Cornelius Vanderbilt II. As his eldest brother William Henry Vanderbilt II had died and their father had disinherited Cornelius Vanderbilt III, Alfred received the largest share of Cornelius Vanderbilt II’s estate when he died in 1899. He died on board the RMS Lusitania, having offered his lifejacket to save a woman when the ship was sinking. This 1907 New York Stock is issued to and nicely signed on the transfer, uncanceled signature of this important Vanderbilt. Only 1 found issued to Alfred. Unique!
